Meet Bill!
Meet COB Brehler, one of our recent customers...
I joined the Navy in July of 1973 and served a total of 27 years, 8 months. I attended Boot Camp at Naval Training Center, San Diego followed by Basic Electronics School and Sonar A School. I bought my first motorcycle, a used Honda 350, in Oct 1973. I took that bike to Bremerton, Washington when I was assigned to my first submarine, the USS Nathan Hale SSBN 623 Mar 74 – Oct 75. I sold that bike to a friend and bought a new 1974 Honda CB750. After riding to and from work for 6 months in the rain in Washington, the bike was covered in rust spots. I earned my Submarine Warfare Insignia (Dolphins) while stationed on the Nathan Hale in 1975. I returned to San Diego for Sonar A School Instructor duty and bought a Yamaha 450. I also taught Motorcycle Safety for the Navy while there. I served on four other submarines; USS Parche SSN 683 May 77 – Jul 79; USS Bremerton SSN 689 Feb 84 – Mar87; selected as Chief of the Boat (COB) on USS Swordfish SSN 579 Mar 87 – Apr 88; and COB on USS Helena SSN 725 Apr 88 – Jun 91. I then served as Command Master Chief for Submarine Development Group One Jul 91 – May 95 and bought my first Harley Davidson, a 2003, anniversary edition Sportster. My last sea tour was on my only Surface Ship USS Duluth LPD 6 May 95 – Jun 98 as the Command Master Chief where I earned my Surface Warfare Insignia. I completed my Naval Career as Command Master Chief for Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Three Jun 88 – Mar 01and retired from the Navy in March 2001. I have owned five other Harleys including my current one, a 2025 Street Glide Ultra.
I joined the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association in 2015 and have served as the Chapter Commander, Treasurer, and I am currently the Chapter Ride Captain. I first heard of Long Ride Shields on the internet in 2019 and bought my first Shield with Dolphins, Master Chief Anchor, and CVMA Skully etched for my 2019 Street Glide.
I just bought my second LRS with Dolphins etched for my 2025 Street Glide. I love the way the shield looks and the way it performs. I would highly recommend this shield to anyone. This a great product and a great company.
